School age class levels

School Age (5 years old and up)

School Age Beginner
Class level:
Complete beginner. Can’t put face in the water.
Aim of the class: To get them confident to jump around in the water and put face under the water, have running water over face, aided back float. To have them submerge under the water and retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool.

School Age  Confident Beginner
Class Level:
Is confident putting face in water and being completely submerged.
Aim of the class: To get them Floating on their front unaided. Kicking on board with face down. Stroking on board with face down. Aided backstroke drills.

School Age Advanced Beginner
Class Level:
Can front float and stand up unaided
Aim of the class: Working on getting their kick very strong and in a streamline position. Stroking 3-4 strokes with good technique. Unaided backstroke kicking and arm circles.

School Age Stroking
Class Level:
Can swim freestyle 3-4 strokes with head down. Backstroke kicking unaided.
Aim of the class: Freestyle stroking 6-8 strokes with good Technique and strong kick.  Backstroke 8 – 10 strokes

School Age Beginner Breather
Class Level: Can swim freestyle 6 – 8 strokes with head down. Backstroke 8m.
Aim of the class: Freestyle breathing skills. Learning to incorporate breathing into their stroking on one side.

School Age Intermediate Breather
Class Level: Has a basic understanding of breathing. Can do 2 or 3 breath cycles before standing up.
Aim of the class: Freestyle breathing skills. To be able to breath for 12.5m without standing up. Backstroke 12m. Introduction of Breaststroke legs.

School Age Advanced Breather
Class Level:
Can swim Freestyle with breathing on one side for 12.5m without standing
Aim of the class: Advanced breathing skills. Starting to learn 3 stroke breathing. Introduction to Breaststroke skills

School Age Stroke 25
Class Level: Can do 25m freestyle.
Aim of the class: Refining Freestyle breathing every 3 strokes. Backstroke skills. Breaststroke timing.Bufferfly skills. Introduction of flip turns.

School Age Stroke 50
Class Level: Can do 50m freestyle, Backstroke and 25 breaststroke.
Aim of the class: Refining Freestyle breathing every 3 strokes. Backstroke skills. Breaststroke timing and working on breaststroke kick.Bufferfly skills. Flip turns.

School Age Stroke 100
Class Level:
Should be able to swim 4 laps Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke.
Aim of the class: Emphasis on breaststroke legs and technique. Refining butterfly skills. Enhancing flip turn skills.

School Age Stroke 200
Class Level:
Can swim 8 laps Freestyle with good technique
Aim of the class: Refining all four strokes and turns. .

School Age Stroke 400
Class Level: Can swim 12 laps Freestlye with good technique.
Aim of the class: Preparing for squads. Refining all four strokes and turns.

Private Lessons

20 Minute Lesson: Cost $45
30 Minute Lesson: Cost $60

Private lessons are a 20min or 30min one on one class with the instructor. They are for anyone who needs that little bit extra attention. A top competitive swimmer wanting stroke correction or someone who needs that little extra. Private lessons are the fastest way to acheive your needs.
